Contributions 2023

Self-employed veterinarians
Your compulsory contribution amounts to 16.00 % of the contribution ceiling of the statutory pension insurance (BBG 2023 =
€ 7,300.00 per month), i.e. € 1,168.00 per month (€ 14,016.00 per year).

If your annual income from self-employed veterinarians does not reach the BBG, you pay 16.00 % of your income per month. The income must be verified by a confirmation from your tax advisor or by a copy of the income tax statement. You can find the application form here.

If you settle in your own practice, you can apply for the reduced start contribution of 3/10 in the year of the new establishment and the following calendar year. You can find the application form here.

Salaried veterinarians
If you are exempt from compulsory insurance in the statutory pension insurance, you pay 18.60 % of the gross wage subject to social insurance, not more than € 1,357.80 per month (employer and employee share).You can find the application form here.

Veterinarians without veterinary activity
If you have no income from veterinary activity, we will lead your membership without contributions. You can pay the 3/10 contribution. The SEPA direct debit mandate and further information can be found here.

Voluntary additional payment
You can make voluntary payments in addition to your compulsory contribution. However, the additional payment is limited in financial years after the age of 52. Voluntary additional payments shall be made by 31 December of the current financial year at the latest. The SEPA direct debit mandate and further information can be found here.
